This is the greatest poetic pronouncement that I know. Intellectually it borders to something unfathomable.\u201d \u2013 <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">joseph brodsky<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt times, a poem is so powerful that it bursts the bounds in which it was written\u2014the bounds of language, geography, epoch. \u2026 Coming upon a poem of that degree of power is a revelatory experience. \u2026 <em>[A] Treatise on Poetry<\/em> seems to me the most comprehensive and moving poem of this half-century. It will be excerpted and anthologized; and its blunt assertions about what poetry must, and must not, attempt will become part of the collective <em>ars poetica<\/em> of our culture.\u201d \u2013 <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">helen vendler<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>A Treatise on Poetry<\/em> and <em>A Treatise on Theology<\/em> have been translated into English by the Author and Robert Hass. <em>Six Lectures in Verse<\/em> have been turned into English by the Author and Leonard Nathan. <em>A Treatise on Morals<\/em> remains untranslated.<\/p>\n<p>All treatises in verse by Czes\u0142aw Mi\u0142osz have been rendered into Swedish by Jurek Hirschberg.
